Two tiers, both including your own Pro Plus learning, and one thing that is worth being clear about before you subscribe: you are not paying for your learners. This article is what each tier costs, what the limits are, and who pays for what.
Without a plan: A tutor account, and your own learning
Pro adds: A tutor plan carries full Pro Plus learning plus the teaching tools
The two tiers
- Tutor — $39/month or $390/year — Full Pro Plus learner access, the teacher dashboard, assignable lessons and homework, every circle type and every teaching-board widget, progress tracking and reports. 1,500 AI credits a month.
- Tutor Plus — $69/month or $690/year — The same features — the difference is the AI budget: 12,000 AI credits a month rather than 1,500. Credits are what seats cost (50 a month for a student who is not on Pro, nothing for one who is), so the budget is what decides your roster: about thirty students against about two hundred and forty. There is no stored student cap on either plan.
Yearly is ten months for twelve on both tiers, the same ratio as every other plan here.
Who pays for your learners
Two different questions, and it is worth keeping them apart.
Their content access: they pay, or nobody does. A free account is enough to join your circle, receive assignments and complete them. What their own plan decides is how much of the *content* they can open, and you cannot buy that for them — their subscription, their account.
Their seat in your circle: you pay, in credits. A learner who is not on Pro costs you 50 credits every 30 days for as long as they are enrolled. A learner who *is* on Pro costs you nothing. That is the whole of it, and it is why the seat fee reads as a referral incentive as much as a charge: a circle whose students all upgrade is free to run.
How big a roster each tier carries
There is no student cap on either tier. Nothing in the software counts your learners and stops you. What bounds a roster is the credit budget, because every enrolled student who is not on Pro costs 50 credits a month.
So the honest arithmetic is division, not a limit: 1,500 credits sustains about 30 students who are not on Pro, and 12,000 sustains about 240 — and both numbers rise, without end, as your students upgrade. Run out and you top up; you are never refused a learner.
Removing a learner stops their seat immediately, and they keep everything they did — their progress belongs to their account rather than to your circle. Pending invitations cost nothing.
Trials, switching and cancelling
- Upgrading — Tutor to Tutor Plus raises the monthly allowance from 1,500 credits to 12,000. The features are the same either way — there is nothing locked on Tutor that Tutor Plus unlocks.
- Downgrading — Works immediately, and no learner is ejected: there is no cap to fall below. What changes is the budget — a roster that was comfortable on 12,000 credits may need topping up on 1,500.
- Cancelling — Your circles and their history remain; the teaching tools re-lock at the end of the paid period, and your own account reverts to free.
- Your learners are unaffected — They keep their accounts, their progress and their own subscriptions whatever you do with yours.
Payment
Through Stripe. Card details go to them and never reach our servers. Invoices, receipts and the card on file are managed from the billing area of your account.

Common questions
Not for their content — a free account is enough for them to join, receive homework and complete it, and what they can open is decided by their own subscription rather than yours. You do pay for their **seat**: 50 credits every 30 days for each enrolled learner who is not on Pro. A learner on Pro is free, so the fee falls as your students upgrade. Buddy Circles are never billed.
