1. Overview
Deleting your account removes your personal data from Mandarin Temple permanently. There are two ways to do it: instantly yourself from inside the app, or by sending us a request. Either way, your account is disabled immediately and all personal data is permanently erased within 30 days.
2. Delete Your Account in the App
The fastest way — you stay in control and it takes effect right away:
- Sign in and open My Account.
- Open the Privacy section.
- Click Delete Account and confirm with your password.
Your account is disabled the moment you confirm (you can no longer sign in), and all of your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.
4. Request Deletion by Email
Email us at contact@mandarintemple.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We verify the request, delete your account, and confirm by email — completed within 30 days, and typically much sooner.
5. What Gets Deleted
Permanently removing your account erases all personal data tied to it, including:
- Your profile — name, email, password, avatar, bio and social links
- Learning progress — XP, streaks, lesson completions, checkpoints and study history
- Flashcards, saved vocabulary and spaced-repetition review data
- Messages, study-circle membership and any content you posted
- Onboarding profile, preferences and settings
A few things may be retained only where the law requires it or in fully anonymized, non-identifying form: billing/transaction records needed for tax and accounting, and aggregate analytics that can no longer be linked to you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on retention.

3. If You Signed in with Google or Facebook
If you created your account with a social login, you may not have a password set. You have two options:
Note: removing Mandarin Temple from your Facebook settings (Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites) or your Google account only revokes future sign-in access — it does not delete the data already stored in your Mandarin Temple account. Use one of the methods above for full deletion.
