Credit packs are a one-off top-up for when a monthly allowance runs short. They are not a way to buy AI without a plan — a free account is refused at checkout — and they are deliberately priced so that subscribing is always cheaper per credit.
The three packs
- Starter — 1,000 credits, $5 — A quick top-up for casual practice. About a thousand tutor messages, or a hundred handwriting checks.
- Plus — 5,000 credits, $20 — The usual choice. Enough for regular conversation and writing feedback on top of a monthly allowance.
- Mega — 15,000 credits, $50 — Best value per credit. A power-user stock that lasts months.

You need a plan first
Checkout refuses a pack on a free account, with a message saying so. That is not an upsell trick — it closes a real hole. Without it, someone could buy a large pack and use every AI feature indefinitely without ever subscribing, which is the whole product for the price of a top-up.
Packs are what they say they are: a top-up on a plan.
Buying one
- Open the credits panel — From your account, or from the message you get when a feature declines for insufficient credits.
- Pick a pack — The three above. There is no subscription attached — a pack is a single payment.
- Pay through Stripe — Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. The same checkout the plans use.
- Credits land on top of what you have — Added, not replacing. An unspent monthly allowance is not lost when a pack arrives.
They do not expire
A pack sits on your balance until you spend it. It is not a monthly allowance and does not reset — a Mega pack bought today can still be there next year.
Your plan’s own monthly grant is added on top, so the two accumulate rather than competing.
Before you buy one
Two things worth checking, because both make packs unnecessary more often than people expect.
First, most text features are refunded down to actual usage after the call — a feature listed at 15 credits commonly settles at three or four, so your real burn rate is lower than the price list suggests. Second, the expensive actions are few and identifiable: a study plan at 15 and a handwriting check at 9. If your balance is vanishing, it is usually one of those, not conversation.
Common questions
No. Packs are top-ups for Pro and Pro Plus members, and checkout says so if you try on a free account. A large pack on a free account would be the whole product for the price of a top-up.
