Adding your children

A child profile is a record on your account: a name, and optionally an age, a level and a goal. It takes about a minute, needs no email address, and is the thing everything else in the family workspace hangs off.

Adding a child

1. Open the Family tab — In the red banner, on a parent account.
2. Give a name — The only required field. A first name is fine and is what appears throughout your dashboard.
3. Add an age, if you like — Used to pitch suggestions. Optional, and nothing is gated on it.
4. Set a level — An HSK band, or "new" if they are starting from nothing. Changeable at any time.
5. Note a goal — Why they are learning — school, family, an exam. It shapes what the Explore tab suggests.

What a profile is for

Two things, and neither requires the child to have an account.

It gives you somewhere to keep track — level, goal, and what you have been working on together — for a child who studies beside you on your own account. And it is the record a login is later attached to, so a child who starts on your lap and later works independently keeps the same profile.

Editing and removing

Everything on a profile can be changed later, including the level. Removing a profile that has no login removes the record and nothing else.

A profile with a login is different — that is a real account with its own progress, and removing it is a deletion rather than a tidy-up. See exporting or deleting your data.

How many

Up to 20 profiles on one account. That ceiling is not an expectation — it is there so a homeschool group or a childminder is not blocked by a limit of three.

What your plan covers is separate: the Family tier includes Pro Plus content access for two children with logins. Profiles beyond that are still tracked.

A profile is yours

A child profile always belongs to the account that created it — that is fixed on the server rather than sent by the browser, so a profile cannot be attached to somebody else’s account by accident or otherwise.
